Robyn joined the LATI practical nursing instructor staff in August of 2012. Prior to that, she taught nursing care clinicals for LATI and SDSU. She also worked as an emergency room nurse at Prairie Lakes Hospital in Watertown and holds ACLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications. Her education includes a bachelor's degree in nursing from Presentation College in Aberdeen and she's currently completing a master's degree in nursing education from Kaplan University. Robyn and her husband Terry have two daughters: Summer and Lennix. She enjoys traveling, running, and family time. She is a member of Sigma Theta Tau International and Alpha Beta Kappa Honors Society.
Brittany earned her Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from Concordia College in Moorhead, MN. Prior to joining LATI in August 2013, she worked on a cardiac progressive care unit in Fargo and in the critical care unit at PLHS in Watertown. She hold certifications in ACLS, PALS, TNCC, and FCCS. She is a member of Sigma Theta Tau International Honors Society. Brittany and her husband, John, have two sons, Kaden and Carter. In her free time, she enjoys repurposing furniture and junk, camping, and spending time with her family.
Samantha joined the LATI team in August 2013. She is a 2010 graduate of South Dakota State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing. She worked at St. Mary's Healthcare Center in Pierre then moved to Watertown where she worked on the Med-Surg-Peds floor at Prairie Lakes Healthcare System. Samantha is married and has a daughter. In her free time, she enjoys watching movies, playing softball, and spending time with friends and family.
Patty began as the department supervisor for the Practical Nursing Program in May 2012. She has been with the Practical Nursing Program and LATI since October 1989. She received her B.S. in nursing from SDSU and her Master of Science/Leadership in Health Care Systems with an education focus from Regis University of Denver. Patty's most recent teaching duties include fundamental nursing, basic skills and advanced skills labs, obstetrics lectures and clinicals and leadership and legal/ethical issues. In her spare time, Patty enjoys living in the country with her husband and five children. Patty enjoys horseback riding, watching sports and collecting antiques.
Alissa joined the Lake Area Tech team in August 2013. Prior to that, she worked as a care assistant at Prairie Lakes Healthcare System before becoming an RN on the Med-Surg-Peds floor. At PLHS, she was also a PALS instructor. Alissa earned her Bachelor's Degree in nursing from Presentation College. She and her husband, Mark, live in Watertown and are parents to Kaylee and Mason. In her spare time, she enjoys shopping (especially for shoes!) and spending time with family.
Amber starting teaching in the Practical Nursing Program in 2011. Her responsibilities include medical surgical clinical and lecturing. She also teaches OB theory and OB clinical at Prairie Lakes Hospital. Prior to working at LATI she worked on the Medical/Surgical/Pediatric unit at Prairie Lakes Hospital in Watertown. Amber is a graduate of Watertown High School and graduated from USD with a BA in Biology. She then received a BS in Nursing from South Dakota State University and a Master's degree from UND in 2013. Amber is married with a son and daughter. She enjoys music, gardening, and spending time outside.
Rhonda graduated from the University of Mary in Bismarck, ND, in 1988 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing. She has worked in a variety of settings, with the last five years in a management position at Mallard Pointe Surgical Center. Rhonda joined Lake Area Technical Institute in October 2004 as a Clinical Practical Nursing Instructor. She recently earned a Master of Science degree in Leadership in Health Care Systems with an education focus from Regis University in Denver. Rhonda is married and has three children. Any spare time is spent at her children's sports events, taking care of her two dogs, and helping her husband run his business.
Robin began teaching classroom and clinical experiences for the Practical Nursing Program at Lake Area Tech in 1994. She has extended her interests into teaching practical nursing online. She received a diploma in practical nursing in 1976 from LATI, a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing in 1984 from South Dakota State University, and a MS/Leadership in Health Care Systems with an education focus in 2006 from Regis University. Robin is married and has three step-children, two step-grandchildren, one dog, and one horse. She enjoys traveling by air, land, and sea.
