Darrel joined the LATI team in August 2013. He is a graduate of Huron High School and a 1982 graduate of LATI's Machine Tool Technology program. His experience includes working in company tool rooms, production machining, owning/operating a small machine shop, and teaching at the multi-district. In his free time, Darrel enjoys old cars, Harleys, hunting, fishing, tinkering in his garage, working on his house, and gardening.
Gary is a Watertown native who brings 24 years of experience to the precision machining program, where he began as an instructor in August 2014. In addition to working in the precision machining industry, Gary spent eight years working for the Minnesota Prison System in the Drug and Alcohol Treatment program for men exiting prison. He also spent six years as an OTR truck driver and driver trainer. He is a Watertown High School grad and also attended the one-year LATI Machining program in 1977. Gary has two sons who are both married and he also has a grandson. In his free time, he enjoys precision shooting, working on guns, working on cars, and playing disc golf.
The Precision Machining program at LATI welcomed Steven to the team in August 2015 as an online instructor. Steven obtained his degree in Machine Tool Technology from Lake Area Tech in 2007 and is a 2006 Watertown High School graduate. His experience includes positions at Dynamic Engineering and Dakota Automation. In his free time, Steven enjoys spending time with his two children, dirt biking, and hunting.
Troy is a graduate of Lake Area Tech's Precision Machining program. He joined the staff in January 2013 as an instructor for the new High Performance Engine Machining program. Previously, Troy worked as an engine machinist at CNC Motorsports and at Johnson Machine. In his free time, he enjoys dirt track racing and snow/water skiing. Troy grew up in Pierre.
